“The lure of flying is the lure of beauty. The dramas of the clouds, the glory of the stars, the charm of landscapes and the wonders of the waters and skies have, to me, an irresistible appeal”
Ameila Earhart, Quoted in Two Ocean Hops Traced, Los Angeles Times newspaper, 31 March 1935.
A 1941 Meyers OTW-160 taxing at one of my favorite annual fly-ins: The My Place grass strip in Cardington, Ohio, October 13, 2019.

The OTW series aircraft were first introduced in 1939 in what would become a very successful career as a primary trainer. Designed by Allen Meyers, the Meyers Aircraft Company eventually produced the following models:
- First generation, OTW- 125, powered by a 125 hp Warner Scarab engine.
- Second generation, OTW-145, powered by a 145 hp Warner Scarab engine.
- Finally the OTW-160 was introduced with 160 hp Kinner engine.
On a beautiful Fall day, this OTW-160 was strutting her stuff for everyone gathered to eat pancakes and enjoy airplanes. 😎
