Journey into the Interior

The Muskingum River on its lazy journey to the Ohio River. 

Derived from the Shawnee word mshkikwam “swampy ground,” it was once a primary route into the interior of the Northwest Territory of the young United States.

River pilots still navigate this beautiful river into the interior of the state of Ohio; however, most boating is now recreational, in search of fun swimming holes and waterfront bars.

On this day, Shahrazad (aka my Jeep) and I embraced the view on this lonely stretch of road. 

As you can see, Shahrazad loves her selfies! 🙄😉
